WEN Board member and Secretary, Rebecca Gilbert has created a stunning exhibition as part of the 41st Annual Wind Challenge Exhibition Series at Fleischer Art Memorial, on view until May 10, 2019 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Visions of Plenty: Observation, Perception, and Reverie is an exhibition by Philadelphia artist and printmaker Rebecca Gilbert. With this body of work, the artist invites viewers to explore optics, perception, and the act of seeing through the pairing of intricately detailed woodcuts and wood engravings with dimensional works on paper.
The exhibition is a culmination of a body of work Gilbert has been working on for the past year and a half. The exhibit includes animated prints, visual illusions, and all around print magic. An incredibly prolific and innovative artist, Rebecca’s work pushes the boundaries of what a print — what a wood engraving — is or can be. We’re so proud of our members’ accomplishments!
