May 24th through the 28th, members of the Wood Engravers’ Network will converge upon Bryan, Texas at the Purple Turtle Studio (also known as The Frame Gallery). Mirka Hokkanen, ( http://www.mirkah.com/about/ ) our fearless and patient hostess and organizer has put together a wonderful schedule of events: https://wenworkshop2016.wordpress.com/schedule/ and arranged to have a special visiting graphic artist and printmaker from Finland, Inari Krohn. Inari creates beautiful mixed process prints with wood engraving, etching and other relief processes to fantastic effect.
WEN’s annual workshops are really a mix of a conference and a work period where there is a free-exchange of ideas, tips and tricks and general camaraderie that are hosted by a different WEN member in a different location each year. As the President of the Wood Engravers’ Network, I am always so excited to visit new places and experience the local flavor and culture of wood engraving via our hosts/hostesses.
Join us for an unforgettable experience!
