MON. June 27: 10:30am–4pm confirmed special activity/event at Victoria & Albert Museum Print Study Room with curator/ scholar Bethan Stevens and many more, plus Society of Wood Engravers (SWE) members.
TUES. June 28: If the British Museum allows group visits in the print study room, we will try for this: 10am to 12:30pm at British Museum Print Study Room with a focus on the Brothers Dalziel archive of 54,000 wood engravings, tool box, blocks and other highlights from the collection. 2 groups (only 10 people are permitted at one time): one at 10:30am and one at 11:30am.There is supposed to be a Dalziel Brothers exhibition (curator Bethan Stevens) that we will not want to miss regardless of the Print Study Room availability.
Florin Press: Graham Williams, master letterpress printer and fellow wood engraver will share his knowledge and experience creating and printing lowered blocks and pro printing tips for wood engraving.
THURS. June 30:
TUES. July 5: Oxford: free morning – Peter Lawrence has offered to take people on a walk around Oxford – Natural History Museum/ Pitts River Museum, Bodleian Library options.
12:45 – 2:30pm Lunch at King’s Arms (Peter Lawrence has reserved a room for us to dine with SWE friends — individuals pay)
3PM Collaborative Keepsake activity at the Bibliographical Press at the old Library, Bodleian Quad arranged by Peter Lawrence in collaboration with SWE.
For the retail store visits, I like to prepare folks for our group – and maybe I can ask that they (and Chris Daunt) be prepared with some specialty items 🙂 The magic of a group!
