Welcome to the new Wood Engravers’ Network website! We love the new design, but mainly we are interested in getting more news, images and exchange ideas to our members and others interested in wood engraving. We have been fortunate to have expert Stockton University Visual Arts instructors Michael McGarvey (WEN Web Master) and his colleague, Daniel Gambert, who teaches Web Design and Design for WordPress, helping us with this transition.
Our reason for switching to WordPress is to make it easier for our online editors to update content, both text and imagery. Our front page News Feed will feature news, engravings, blog items and allow comments from YOU, our members, and those who appreciate or seek involvement in wood engraving. Our web content editors are Leslie Evans, Sarah Whorf, Michael McGarvey, Joanne Price (also manages the WEN Facebook page), and Eric Hoffman who will manage the WEN Instagram page.
We encourage all to submit content for the blog. We hope you will use this site as an interactive forum for discussion, questions, ideas and feedback on current and developing work and an opportunity to respond to the work of others. We will post work from recent and past bundles and WEN exhibitions. We also plan to feature wood engraving artists who give us permission to reproduce their work on the site and send us scans or embedded links from personal WEB sites. We hope to increase the exposure of the fine work of WEN members, and others involved in wood engraving. Feel free to suggest other wood engraving related people or organizations you think deserve to be featured – send images or links to
If you are the creator of the images, please indicate that you are granting WEN permission to post those images or embedded links on Website Blog and/or social media when you email or download them to the blog editor. The new website also has links to WEN’s Facebook, and in due course a WEN Instagram account. Let us know if you would also like them posted on other media. If you send us images of other artists we ask that you get written permission to post on the WEN blog from those who own the rights to the images. It might seem onerous at first, but I am sure that most engraver’s will be glad to get increased exposure.
We look look forward to posting your submissions!
