In past blog posts we featured prints from WEN members for “Seize the Carp,” a collaboration between the Wood Engraver’s Network and the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. They were designed and carved by engravers and then printed at Hamilton on Neenah Classic Crest, 100 lb. cover, Bare White. At 9×9 inches each print is a lovely, intricate work of art — and they’re all available for sale from Hamilton!
This project was organized in the spirit of carpe diem – seize the day – for wood engravers! Organized by WEN member and B&B editor, Tony Drehfal, many great engravers participated, including Tony, Eric Gulliver, Eric Hoffman, Mirka Hokkanen, John McWilliams, Carl Montford, Joanne Price, and Jim Westergard.
You can view these online or attend Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum’s annual Wayzgoose, November 2-4, 2018, for a fun conference hosting designers, printers, typographers and letter geeks of all stripes from across the globe. Check out the schedule and consider joining the fun in Two Rivers, Wisconsin!
