Paul Gentry was a master wood engraver and printmaker whose works have been collected by major museums and libraries throughout the country. Paul died at his home in Independence, Oregon, on August 30th, 2020. There is a retrospective show celebrating his life and work at The River Gallery in Independence that will run through the month of June (Paul Gentry: A Life’s Work (rivergalleryart.com).
I could not find a listing for Paul Gentry in my Member Directories from 2014 or 2019, but I am certain that I saw him in a group photo of a fairly recent WEN workshop. Paul’s favorite subjects for his wood engravings were rural scenes from around his home in the Williamite valley in Oregon.
