Please join WEN’s President, Jessica White for a 250th celebration of the United States’ founding at the Library of Congress on May 14, 2026!
White will kick off the public symposium for Our Common Ground: 250 Years of Americans Engaging in Nature with a talk about book history, book art, and how both fields have inspired the artist’s own work. Following the artist talk, Jessica will perform/present her crankie book with live music by friends Kevin Kehrberg (guitar) and Jeff Keith (mandolin). There will also be an exhibit of book arts from the Library of Congress’ permanent collection that Jessica has curated, with many of the included books referenced in her presentation.
