THEN Get into the WOOD ENGRAVING MOOD with a talk at the Flower City Arts Center on Friday September 26th at 7pm by Joanne Price, President emeritus of the Wood Engravers’ Network, sponsored by the Rochester Print Club.
Price will discuss the art of wood engraving as part of the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal: “Canal Week”. Wood Engraving was the primary method of including illustrations in books and newspapers in the early 19th Century. The development of the techniques will be discussed with examples of this unique form of printmaking.
